Walter R. Adams Community Criminal Justice Scholarship – deadline to apply March 1
This scholarship was established to provide financial assistance as a "bridge" to the HOPE Scholarship and is funded primarily by the Rotary Club of Rome and the Community Criminal Justice Foundation. The scholarship provides assistance with the first 30 semester hours of course work along with books and other fees to a student majoring in Criminal Justice.
Desire to pursue and complete a Criminal Justice degree
2.0 minimum GPA and not be eligible for the HOPE Scholarship during the period of disbursement, however, must strive for improved grades to qualify for the HOPE Scholarship after 30 credit hours earned.
U.S. citizen, currently employed in a law enforcement position or currently pursuing a degree in criminal justice at Georgia Highlands College, and experiencing financial hardship
Must not have been convicted of any crime by any state or federal government for which punishment could have been imprisonment in the federal or state prison or institution nor have been convicted of sufficient misdemeanors to establish a pattern of disregard for the law, provided that, violations of traffic laws and other offenses involving the operation of motor vehicles when the applicant has received a pardon shall not be considered.
