She began her 21- year career at Samford in the associate nursing degree program, which transitioned to a baccalaureate program in 1995. In addition to teaching in the baccalaureate program from 1995 to present, she has taught in the graduate program since 1999. Prior to joining Samford’s faculty, in 1991, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) for eight years.

Dr. Alexander brings to Georgia Highlands College experience in clinical, research, online, and web-enhanced courses. She has clinical experience in oncology, adult medical- surgical, pediatrics, critical care, and hospice. She has facilitated students’ presentations at national and regional conferences, such as the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR).

Her BSN and MSN degrees are from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. She earned her EdS degree in educational administration and her EdD degree in educational leadership from Samford University.
