Nancy's family sends the following statement to be shared with the GHC family:
"It is with regret and a heavy heart that we inform you that Dr. Nancy Hague passed away Friday, February 17. Nancy was a dear friend and colleague to many. She will be remembered most, however, for her dedication to her students. Even
with only weeks left in her life and from her hospital bed, she was
dictating a letter of recommendation for a former student. We can all take comfort in the fact that Nancy is no longer suffering. Details regarding a GHC memorial service will be sent out as soon as the plans have been finalized."
Nancy
is survived by her mother Janet Hague of DeLand, Florida; sister
Carolyn Hague and brother-in-law Michael Pinkerton of Vienna, Austria;
brother David Hague, also of DeLand, Florida; brother-in-law Terrence
White, niece Kaitlin White and nephew Peter White of Daytona Beach,
Florida. She was predeceased by her sister Sarah White and her father
John Hague, a long-time professor at Stetson University. You may recall
the tender remembrance of her father that Nancy wrote and shared with
this community.
Nancy Hague's work at Georgia Highlands College was
remarkable. Our relationships with her were authentic, valuable and
enduring. Her brand of caring for students and for all of us was unique
and to be treasured. This is a sad day.
